    What an awesome looking book!

Wine Folly: The Essential Guide To Wine looks like everything the beginner enthusiast would need to know.

I grew up very close to some amazing wine routes in Cape Town South Africa and spent my fair share of time on wine farms.

This would have been great when I was still trying to figure it all out.

    Keep up the great work!

Hey Ronn, would you say this book is suitable for absolute beginners like me?

    • Ronn says:

Absolutely! This is an excellent book for beginners Ryan. I recommended it to some friends of mine who are nondrinkers but wanted to serve wine to their dinner guests. There is some very knowledgeable information on wine and food pairing. I wish this book was around when I first discovered wine.

    Hi Ron,
This is a really helpful article. I had no idea that Texas was becoming a “wine” spot.

I live on the Niagara Peninsula which has an abundance of vineyards and Wineries.

Is there any particular wine types being produced in Texas? They should do well.

    • Ronn says:

      Hi Daisy,
I have heard about the very good wineries on the Niagara Peninsula. My Canadian origins are from Hamilton Ontario. I have not been back for numerous years, and will make it a point to visit these wineries on my next vacation to Canada. Texas produces many varieties of red and white wines. There is a European influence especially German, so it depends on what type of wine you prefer.

      Thank you

This book looks so informative. Best value wines section rock!I like to drink wine and would like to drink more of quality wines but at a good price.
I like looking like a pro when I can pare the food with the wine, just this book. It looks very easy to use as well.
I personally like rose wines from France, what would you recommend that has value?

    Hi Ronn,

Looks like a very good book for us wine enthusiast. Nice video! As you know I like my red wine and being from the S.F. Bay area I can get some very good wine. I have found a place that if anyone has in their area they can have excellent wines at bargain prices. The grocery chain is called Grocery Outlet. What I suggest is to get to know the store owner and ask them for their recommendations and or the wine dept. manager. Purchase one bottle and if liked get back soon as they seem to go fairly fast if they are good at these bargain prices.

    Hi Ronn,

Thanks for the vid! Looks like a flipping comprehensive book, and nicely laid out too.

I must admit that wine / food pairing is something I know nothing about. My approach is, “Is it red? Does it taste like wine? Right, crack it open.” LOL

    Take care,
